#TCCSTORIES: Trends Don’t Leave Legacies ft. Jazz Cartier

Nothing will ever be new, Jazz Cartier is sure on that.

It’s about an appreciation for the past. It’s about finding your way. It’s about building fam. Don’t you know: trends don’t leave legacies.

Posted out on the front stoop, the Toronto-based musician talks to Eric Veloso and Steve Irby of Street Dreams Magazine about forging an identity for the city he calls home. Though days spent looking to the West Coast, NYC, and Chi Town have us building fam in other cities, when all is said and done, The 6 pulls you back. With the city grows the artist. And as such, it’s as though the progression of the city echoes Jazz’s evolution as an artist- both reaching that point of feeling comfortable with who they are and expressing that emotion. In his words “it’s like a whole new ballgame.”
