For my final year project I looked to the gaming industry. The video game Pong is considered to be the birth of the industry, spawning a wave of arcades to open up to feed the hungry, new found audience. As this audience grew up, so did the industry. Going from a hugely social aspect in the arcades, to an almost full circle with a new, matured and technically advanced culture. Social media games, mobile games, online multiplayers are examples of how social our games have become again. My animation is a time line on the growth of the industry, and how it changed each generation reacting to its ageing audience and how the trends will likely continue to loop.
