For the Spring/Summer 2014 Capsule Collection, MAKE tapped fashion it-girl and Lower East Side boutique owner Maryam Nassir Zadeh, who used Antonioni’s first Technicolor film, “Red Desert” as inspiration to create a colorful mix of contemporary pastels that were translated into looks that are spot-on for S/S trends with makeup artist Ozzy Salvatierra.
Nassir Zadeh’s concept for Celeste e Verde is a personal visual of lifestyle. ‘My inspiration draws from a familiar place and also a dream place I want to live one day.’ The mood of the atmosphere is 70’s -90’s.
A reflection of a woman and her style in life and living life in style: a life that feels spiritual, artful, colorful and filled with good relationships. The space and environments are Modern and Natural. There are swimming pools ocean views, beauty and art. Sunlit rooms and intimate spaces, stylish and personal interiors, filled with objects and intimacy; it’s an idea of coming home. Spaces are minimal, considered, graphic, beautiful and unique in color. The Feeling is warm, fresh, natural, and authentic. The palette is a mix of contemporary pastels, firery brights and seaside blues. Colors are nostalgic and fresh: a warm buttery yellow, powdery blue, deep rust, and a highlight of bronze off-set by a bold monochromatic duo.
Celeste e Verde comes alive in a short film shot in Los Angeles by independent filmmaker Alexa Karolinski. Artist and designer Ana Kraš, stars in the film portraying the simple intimate moments that Nassir Zadeh sought to conjure. Ana wears the milky and matte shades of Celeste e Verde throughout the film, in looks created by makeup artist Ozzy Salvatierra, evoking the simple yet beautiful California dreamlike lifestyle.
