Dear Epitaph Records,
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I’m sure you guys get a lot of these emails/submissions a year. I really hope you take the time to listen to our record as I really think you’ll be very impressed.

What is so impressive about our record? What sets you apart from the thousands of other bands submitted to us?
Well, I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself. I have been into Punk/Hardcore for twenty five years. In this time I have been an avid punk collector/enthusiast, contributed to MRR, contributed to FLEX! US punk discography and put out records myself.
Ok, So what? you might ask-
I guess I’m telling you this as I have gone out of my way to listen and (try to own) nearly every punk and hardcore record put out from 76-83. Not that this is an achievement and a (near impossible task) but demonstrates I am passionate and have a fair understanding of what makes a great punk record. When writing and recording these songs I really analyse them as I would never want to put my name on anything that I didn’t think was a great record. In saying this we have a variety of influences from Worldwide 77 punk especially Australian (OZ) Punk, Power Pop, Garage/KBD to the OC/LA Beach punk/Hardcore sound. Which again gives us a unique kind of sound.
Why do we care?
Because I believe we capture the energy and attitude of punk rock with a very unique, relevant and modern edge.
So why bother putting a record out from an unknown band from Sydney, Australia?
Well first and foremost I hope you really dig the record and share the same vision for it as we do. It is all recorded, mixed, mastered and ready to go. We have also created a film clip to accompany one of our songs.
We are very easy going guys, reliable, communicate well, hardly drink or party and put on a great live show. We all have very flexible jobs and can tour overseas as much as we want. (We want to concentrate on touring the States and Europe this year). Again, our sound is unique, we could easily fit on the bill with any punk/rock related bands which are part of your catalogue from- Bad Religion, Pennywise, Rancid, Social Distortion, Off With Their Heads, Hot Water Music, Plague Vendor etc
In our short time, upon the release of our first album we were the first Australian band to play Punk Rock Bowling – Las Vegas 2017, have been approached by a beer company to do our own beer (coming out this year), have had the opportunity to support many touring bands as well as packing out our own local shows. But we feel Epitaph can take us to a far greater level and this new record is far superior to our last effort. We don’t care about the money side at all, we just want to get our music out there and play as many shows as possible. So who better to help us with this than the most trusted label in independent music.
Hold on Mike, you’re a punker for twenty five years, you must know about the DIY ethos attached to being in a punk band, surely you can do this yourself?
Well we wrote, recorded, co-produced the album and film clip ourselves. But unfortunately self promotion and social media is not our strong point. I myself have never had any kind of personal social media accounts and quite honestly am simply not a fan. I would even much prefer to meet face to face or have a phone conversation than emailing.
Being signed to Epitaph would automatically gives us the exposure we deserve and the opportunity to reach our full potential. It will allow us to concentrate on what we love, which is writing/recording songs and playing as many shows as possible.
Why do we want to put out a 70/80s influenced record in 2020?
Well we all know the cliche “Punk’s not Dead” and we also know that Punk will never die. The record covers topics that are relevant today and almost anyone can relate to plus it sounds fresh, exciting, catchy and new!
Anyway, really hope you give our album a solid Bl’ast! I’m sure you’ll like what you hear. Really look forward to hearing from you soon.
